Taxes are how regions and states fund their operations and infrastructure. Understanding the tax system helps you make informed decisions about where to live, work, and build your factories.
There are two levels of taxation in Warfront Nations:
| Level |
Collector |
What's Taxed |
| Regional |
Regional government / local leader |
Factory output per resource type, market transactions |
| State |
State government / state leader |
Work income (wages), border crossings |
Regional leaders control local tax rates within their territory.
- Set per factory type (Oil, Ore, Uranium, Diamonds, Gold)
- Applied to the factory's total output before the wage split between owner and workers
- Example: A 15% Ore output tax means 15% of all ore produced in that region goes to the regional treasury
- Applied to transactions in the regional marketplace
- Configurable by the regional government
States collect taxes on activities that cross their jurisdiction.
- Default rate: 10%
- Applied to every work session's earnings
- Goes directly into the state treasury
- State leaders can adjust this rate (0% minimum, 100% maximum)
- Default rate: 10%
- Applied when a player travels from one state's territory to another
- Goes into the state treasury
- State leaders can adjust this rate (0% minimum, 50% maximum)
States have regular expenses drawn from their treasury:
| Expense |
Default Cost |
| War Declaration |
500 Money per war |
| Closed Border Maintenance |
50 Money per day |
| State Leader Wage |
Configurable by the leader |
A state with an empty treasury may be unable to declare wars or maintain border policies.
Work session:
- Worker earns wage → State takes income tax (10% default) → Worker receives net earnings
Factory production:
- Factory produces resources → Region takes output tax (varies) → Owner and workers split the remainder
Travel:
- Player crosses state border → State takes border crossing tax (10% default)
- Live in a low-income-tax state if you work frequently — the savings add up quickly
- Build factories in low-output-tax regions to maximize factory income
- Check the region profile before traveling to work — high factory output taxes can make working there unprofitable
- If you're a state leader, balance taxes carefully — too high and players will leave; too low and you can't fund wars
- Republic government players can vote for leaders with favorable tax policies
